Dr Sousa is a medical qualified doctor, who was trained in Brazil and is currently completing a postgraduate research degree at the Prince of Wales Clinical School, UNSW Australia. As her clinical practice primarily encompassed breast cancer, Dr Sousa has a strong interest in both clinical and translational aspects of breast cancer research. Her primary research focuses in the aetiology and management of side effects of breast cancer treatment and the identification of appropriate interventions to prevent and ameliorate symptoms and improve quality of life in survivorship. Additionally, she has interests in menopause-related aspects of breast cancer treatment, sexual dysfunction, psychosocial issues in cancer, decision-making and cancer genetics.
