Anna Ugalde

Anna is a senior research fellow in the of Institute of Health Transformation and School of Nursing and Midwifery at Deakin University. Her background is in psychology with her PhD complete in 2012 and she currently holds a Victorian Cancer Agency Early Career Health Services Research fellowship. Her research program focuses on the experience of people with cancer and their caregivers, through systematic reviews, intervention trials, qualitative and quantitative studies. She has also conducted research on understanding how models of cancer care can be optimised, in areas including peer support, shared care, telephone support services, referral pathways for cancer survivors and cancer care coordination. More recently her research program has included implementation science and health services research. In 2020 Anna was awarded a Victorian Young Tall Poppy award, which reflects her communication, community engagement and collaborations with consumers, community groups, policymakers and clinicians.
