Dr Visalini Nair-Shalliker is a Research Fellow at the Cancer Research Division Cancer Council NSW. She is also an Honorary Fellow at Macquarie University, and holds an adjunct position at the School of Public Health University of Sydney.
She has a research focus to identify environmental, lifestyle and molecular risk factors of prostate cancer, and improve our understanding on the interactions between modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors, using large datasets. She has a basic training in basic science and completed a PhD in Molecular Epidemiology which examined the relationship between sun exposure, vitamin D and development of prostate cancer. She is currently involved in a randomised control trial of vitamin D supplementation in men with prostate cancer, which is funded by the Movember Clinical Trial Award. Today she will be presenting results from the NSW $% and Up study.
