Chris is a Senior Palliative Care Consultant in the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network. Whilst the Clinical Head of the Lyell McEwin Palliative Care Service, she focussed on systems thinking and opportunities to influence care through connections within the health system. The Service was recognised for innovative thinking through the 2011 SA Health Minister’s Award for Innovation and a major Commonwealth Government Grant.
Chris is currently working in a project role examining ways to enhance EOL care across the Lyell McEwin Hospital, with an emphasis on ICU and ED. She is a member of the SA Clinical Senate and is passionate about social justice and kindness in healthcare. She supports the fledgling palliative care service in Tripura, India as a member of Australasian Palliative Link International.
