Sam Ngan is a radiation oncologist and the head of the GI unit at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. Prior to his career in radiation oncology, he was a surgeon and lecturer in surgery at the University of Hong Kong. His interests are in the multimodality management of colorectal cancer and other GI malignancies, and soft tissue sarcoma. He is the study chair of three Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) multi-disciplinary rectal trials. In 2007, he was awarded the TROG Trial Excellence Award for his contribution in research.
