        Professor Chris Karapetis is Network Director for Cancer Services in the Southern Area Local Health Network of Adelaide, Head of the Department of Medical Oncology and Director of Clinical Research in Oncology at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide.  Professor Karapetis has been the principal investigator on over 180 clinical trials and has published over 270 papers. He has established research interests in the areas of gastro-intestinal malignancy, lung cancer, molecular targeted therapies, predictive biomarkers and epidemiology. He is the current Chair of Scientific Advisory Committee of the AGITG. He is also Chair and Convenor of the Australia and Asia Pacific Clinical Research Development (ACORD) Initiative.  He is a former Chair the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA), a past board member of COSA, and has served on NHMRC Grant Review Panels
