Familial intestinal type gastric cancer: Which genes? What surveillance? (#67)
Familial gastric cancer accounts for a small but important proportion of all cases. Intestinal and diffuse gastric cancer may be associated with a range of known genetic syndromes. Identifying persons with a known genetic cause for gastric cancer can aid in the management of the individual and guide risk management recommendations for the extended family. This presentation will outline the genetic basis of familial intestinal and diffuse gastric cancer and discuss the evidence around surveillance for intestinal gastric cancer.
